UW MEDICAL CENTER - MONTLAKE - PHARMACY is looking for a TEMPORARY/HOURLY PHARMACIST INTERN. The Pharmacist Intern performs a variety of technical pharmaceutical tasks in the inpatient or satellite pharmacies. Under general supervision and control of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacist Intern independently performs a variety of technical pharmaceutical functions, such as compounding medications, filling medication orders, and preparing compounded sterile products.

Primary job responsibilities:
Maintain repackaging records.
Load drawers for the PYXIS and unit dose medication distribution system.
Deliver medications, including transfer of medication drawers, to the nursing units or other areas of the hospital.
Package medications into single-unit packages.
Restock shelves in the pharmacy.
Pull outdates off shelves.
Maintain the stock levels of ward stock on the nursing units.
Prepare pharmaceutical solutions for external use.
Check stock for expiration dates.
Maintain patient confidentiality according to UW Medical Center standards.
Adhere to UWMC Pharmacy Services and UW Medical Center policies and procedures.
Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant OR equivalent education/experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT: Certification as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist Intern with the Washington State Board of Pharmacy.
