The Product Applications Specialists is responsible for pre-sales technical and application support for products and services relative to automation portfolio – Interface, HMI, Cameras. Selected candidate will support the Sales Team in assigned territories to achieve sales goals.

Role Qualifications:

• 2-5 years technical experience in hands-on control systems / instrumentation.

• Additional 2-5 years in a customer-facing role.

• Experience in process automation and / or hazardous area products is required.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Follow strategy & tactical plan laid out by SD-Automation to market automation products & grow sales in assigned territory.

• PAS help their sales team qualify leads by using their deep understanding of the product’s ideal customer pain points. They may even have the initial phone or email contact with leads.

• Collaborates on selling strategy with outside sales representative/manager of the assigned territory.

• Joins the assigned territory’s sales team and presents automation products at customer sites. And help specify Stahl products for customer’s projects.

• Utilizes product and application knowledge of Stahl’s automation products to size and select the right product.

• Reviews RFQ to determine customer requirements and suitability of Stahl product offerings to meet customer needs.

• For complex and engineer-to-order requests for automation solutions, the PAS is responsible for converting request for quote (RFQ) to timely, high quality bids by working together with Inside Sales team.

• Make judgements about pricing/discount structures considering the price list and availability of product vs. customer need, overall size of the opportunity, and competition for the product line. Where needed, will liaise with SD-Automation.

• Identifies local events where Stahl can participate and market automation products to defined audience / industries.

• Maintain data on our competitor’s sales and pricing policies to provide efficient quote follow up and ongoing sales forecasting as required

• Capture, Document and Track Product Gaps while interacting with customers and report these to SD-Automation.

• The PAS maintains effective and up-to-date documentation in customer relationship management (CRM) tool.

• Participate in any special projects as set forth by management, not included above.

Requirements

 

• Bachelors or Associate degree in Instrumentation or Control systems

• Minimum 3-5 years of in-depth technical knowledge.

• 3-5 years industry experience in a client responsive environment.

• Ability to assist customers developing requirements and statements of work.

• Ability to manage all aspects of automation system solution design, build, wiring and testing of proposed solutions for customers.

• Understand features / benefits of R.STAHL compared to competitor products. Know and sell the advantages to the customer.

• Ability to read automation system solution design specifications and technical drawings.

• Project manage DCS and PLC private labeled automation system solutions.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Proficiency in office management software, CRM Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; SharePoint and Access preferred.

• Capable of problem solving, hands on approach, and solution focused skills are essential to this position.

• Other basic skills that are required are: exceptional presentation skills, able to lead training, interpersonal skills, time management skills, self-motivated, self- starter, and able to adjust to changing project needs.

• Must be able to travel (25%)
